Who we are

Refine is provided by [company name, registration number and address: to fill in once the business is registered (likely a Dutch company)]. By creating an account you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.

Your account

You sign in with a Google account. An account is for one person; keep your sign-in to yourself. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian has to agree to these terms for you. [Minimum age: to decide with the lawyer.]

Free trial

Every new account gets 14 days with everything included, from the day you sign up. No card is needed and nothing is charged when it ends. After the trial you need a plan to add or change things; you can still open Refine and see everything you saved.

Plans and payment

There's one plan, paid monthly or yearly. Prices are shown on our website and at checkout, taxes included. You pay in advance through Stripe, and the plan renews automatically for the same period until you cancel. If we change the price, we'll tell you at least 30 days before your next renewal, and you can cancel before it applies.

Cancelling

Cancel at any time from Settings in the app. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again. Deleting your account also cancels your plan, straight away; if you're due a refund (below), ask for it before you delete.

Refunds and your right to change your mind

If you change your mind within 7 days of a payment, we refund it in full, whatever the reason; this is your right under article 49 of Brazil's Consumer Defense Code. If you live in the EU, you have 14 days. Ask from Support & Help in the app; the refund goes back to the way you paid.

What you put in

What you add to Refine stays yours. You let us store and process it only to run Refine for you. Only import files you have the right to use (for example, Guitar Pro scores you bought or made), and only for your own practice.

Fair use

Don't misuse Refine: no attempts to break in, overload it, reach other people's data, or resell access. We can suspend an account that does, after telling you why where we can.

Changes to Refine

We keep improving Refine, so features can change. If we take away something central to what you paid for, you can cancel and we'll refund the unused part of your period.

Liability

We work to keep Refine running and your data safe, but can't promise it will never be unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits the rights consumer law gives you, or our liability where the law doesn't allow it to be limited. [Limitation wording: to review with the lawyer.]

Ending your account

You can stop using Refine and delete your account at any time, in the app (Settings → Data & Backup → Delete account) or by writing to us. Your plan ends at once, nothing more is charged, and your data is deleted as the privacy policy says.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by [Dutch] law, but you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, and you can bring a claim in its courts. In Brazil you can also use consumidor.gov.br. Please write to us first; most problems are quickest to fix that way.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email at least 30 days before they apply. If you don't agree, you can cancel before then.
